I was invited to give a talk on my PhD at this year’s School of Psychology Seminar Series! It was the first “proper” talk I gave in person since the start of the pandemic – the previous ones have been given online. I missed the feeling of being on stage in front of 50+ people, without notes or presenter view. Someone recently told me that public speaking was my version of extreme sports – I find that comparison quite funny, but I would argue that public speaking is not just more safe than base jumping but also carries more potential for societal benefit. But hey, I’ll let you be the judge!
